UV printing is a form of digital printing that uses ultra-violet light to instantly dry or cure the ink as it is being distributed across the surface of a material (called a ‘substrate’). With less ink and energy being consumed, UV becomes both a more sustainable and truly versatile choice. UV printers can print stunning colours and incredible textures on almost any kind of media, including rigid materials such as glass, tiles, wood, aluminium and acrylics, as well as flexible media such as wallpaper and canvas.

R&D’s commitment to increasingly “green” inkjet solutions.
Mimaki has always invested heavily in Research & Development to develop eco-friendly products. With the introduction of LATEX systems, sublimation ink printers with OEKO-TEX® certification, Eco Solvent ink and UV LED technology, it has fully entered the world of sustainability. The development of eco-friendly inks without emissions of harmful chemical substances (VOCs), as well as the integration of printing systems with the RasterLink RIP software, reduce waste, energy consumption, CO2 and chemical emissions. toxic to the environment.
Mimaki promotes digital printing and disseminates eco-friendly solutions on demand which allow companies to contain warehouse stocks , as only the necessary material is printed when the end customers request it, and a reduction in waste, because only the ink applied to the print area. GREENGUARD GOLD certified products comply with rigorous
safety standards for low emission of chemical substances (VOCs) and can also be used in sensitive environments such as schools and healthcare facilities.
Mimaki has achieved GREENGUARD GOLD certification on
all UV LED inks, SS21 Eco Solvent ink and BS4 ink .
OEKO-TEX®
The ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX® certification certifies the
safety of the chemical substances used during the production of dyes, pigments and finishing agents.
The inks that have obtained the ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX® certification are:
Sb320/420, Sb411, Sb53/300 and Sb54/310/410/MLSb510 .
